I'm Mike Farley, born in Chattanooga, TN. I
was raised in South Georgia in a small town called
Donalsonville. I sang for several years in
various
school
and church groups as well as a Top 40 rock band.
I've been a Christian since I was 13 years old and
God has blessed me with a beautiful wife of 25
years and a lovely 17-year old daughter.
Alyce and I live in La Grange where we
have called home since 1982 when we were married.
Georgia is a Sophomore at UNCW where she is
planning to enter Nursing School next year. I work at
GoMix Christian Radio as an announcer and music
director. Alyce teaches EMS and Paramedic
programs at Lenoir Community College in
Kinston.
In high school I
never actually took chorus class but knew the
chorus teacher well and got to sneak out of study
hall to go
sing with the chorus from
time
to time. It was then I learned about singing
in a quartet. Having a fairly good vocal
range, I sang for three years in the men's quartet
and got to sing a different part each year.
I
first saw a gospel concert when my families radio
station helped bring in the Lefevres, a group
based out of Atlanta. It was something I
really did not think I would be interested, since
I was more into Top 40 and rock music. But
when the bus pulled up, and the guys started
unloading and when the music started...wow!
I fell in love with it. Little did I know at
the time, that one day I would be in a gospel
quartet. Now the only thing we need is a bus! :)
We
are available to come to your church to sing,
witness and testify to the goodness of our Lord
Jesus Christ. Feel free to e-mail me or you
can call my cell phone at 252-286-9520.
